****UPDATE ON POOR GIRL*****

Turns out our poor little girl is a momma cat after all..she is still nursing her babies so we had to turn her loose outside because we didn't know where the kittens are being kept. We will continue to try to catch the older kittens and the male cats running loose. Several female cats are pregnant or have just given birth so we are finding it difficult to try to remove them to have them fixed without hurting the babies. If anyone has any tips it would be greatly appreciated.

Poor Girl

I'd like you all to meet one of our "neighborhood" cats. She's got such a pretty face but no place to call home other then a bush, or under a tree or in a street well. She is one of the cats we donate some of our food to daily. She will be making her way tomorrow to the SPCA to be fixed so she doesn't end up a single mother. We don't know if she ever had a home before as she seems to be new to the neighborhood. We've only started seeing her around a few months ago. We live in the Ocean Township area of Monmouth County so if anyone knows of someone missing their baby, please contact us. Until then, the vet will check her out, give her shots and fix her (if she hasn't been already). She'll rest comfortably for a few days before being released outside again. We will try our hardest to try to find her a good home if possible. Its always good to have a clean pillow to warm your haunches under. Having a human around to domesticate isn't so bad either. Meow once, they pet you. Meow twice, you get a toy. Meow three times and you get feed. Humans are so easy to train.

The picture above is in our bathroom. We felt it was a little cruel to keep her in a carrying cage for 2 days while waiting for the ASPCA drop off date. Our human says she has to stay seperated from us until she gets her tests done. I hope she passes them all with flying colors. Until then, keep your paws crossed!

Tuna in every bowl

There is a time for every cat to look around and see all that they have achieved. A nice couch to scratch, a clean litter box, a human servant to do thy bidding and above all, tuna in every bowl. I look out my window daily and see hobo kittens huddling together doing a meow quartet in exchange for food. Sometimes I wish I could be out there roaming free, seeing and smelling the different sites but then along comes a rumbling noise from lord knows what and snaps me back to my senses. Yes, I feel for the ones out there that aren't as lucky to have such sound insulated digs such as myself. I take time out of my daily routine to push aside one of my cans for my human to go out and feed my friends. A tuna in every bowl is my motto. If every cat who had it as lucky as I were into such philanthropy, it would be a happier but probably fatter place.



As always, make sure all of your housemates are spayed/neutered. You don't want to wake up one day to have your favorite blanket smell like the bottom of someone's litterbox. Yuck! That's when they get the wrong side of my paw.
