Kitten Rescued From Drowning

This little guy was rescued last night around 11pm. Our neighbor Gale and her boyfriend Rob found this little guy drowing in a pool of water under a drainage area. They pulled him out, dried him off and put a little heating pad under him to keep him warm. Unfortunately they are not able to keep him. I am going to try to see if he can be sheltered at the SPCA and if not, find him a foster home until a home can be found for him. We can't release him back out because for starters, he's male and needs to be fixed before any more of him pop up. His father is Big Tom which happens to be the daddy of most kittes in the area. Just look at this face, how is he not going to be a heart breaker?  He's about 5-7 weeks old. He's so cute isn't he? Please contact me if you have any leads on a home for him. Thanks!

This brings us to 6 cats and 4 kittens left to capture.

Operation Kindness

One of my lovely neighbors, Gale, who has 4 lovely cats of her own, has contacted Operation Kindness. They are going to foot the bills for all of the feral cats we capture and take to get fixed.  They are a wonderful organization. If you'd like to read further information about them, please click here.  http://www.coalitionforanimals.org/operationkindness.htm Gale has started naming the all of the strays.  I'm going to start posting pics of them soon along with the crazy names she's come up with.  This could be interesting.  There are currently 6 adult cats, One 6 month old, and 5 kittens we are dealing with here.  We have the 6 month old ready to go on Monday.  1 down 11 more to go. Wish us luck!

New Trapped Cat...needs home!!

We have started up our Trap Neuter & Release program again.  Here is a little kitty we caught today. She is about 6 months old and needs a good home.  We are going to take her to the SPCA on monday to have her fixed and get her shots.  Part of the TN&R is catching them, fixing them and releasing them back into their natural habitat but we'd like to try to find them homes if possible.  If you know anyone that might want her, please contact me and let me know.  She's adorable. A little frightened but very sweet.  Her sister already found a home and we are still trying to catch the mother who happens to be very very friendly as well.

Wait..what did I do last night??!!!

Aw man, it has been a while since my last update. You might ask why the silly hat. Well I'll tell you. I have no idea. I fall asleep and bam! A bright flash of light happens and I start to come to only to find a silly at on my head. You might think 'yeah, right "asleep" he says'. I am very responsible with my catnip. I usually wait til my human is either gone or asleep before indulging. Not because she wouldn't approve...but because of things like this. As you know, its now the end of Sept. She just came back from the store with our treats and good eats for the week. I noticed there's another bag though with stuff sticking out. Looks like the dreaded Halloween costumes are upon us again. Does anyone know the number for PETA???

September is here...oh the horror

Listen up folks...there are a horrifying 59 days left til Halloween. The time when your human becomes a nutjob more so then normal and decides you need to "dress up". I don't see my neighbors giving out cans of tuna each year. This is last year's costume. It cost my human her favorite pair of shoes. Oh yeah, I peed on them. I'd do it again if she hadn't moved them all behind the doors. They hang there magically and I can't quite figure out how to reach up there just yet. I repeat... JUST.. yet.
Now for those of you other cats out there...don't try to play dead when they do this costume thing...it doesn't work. It makes it easier for them to put it on. One can of tuna isn't worth it.. a year supply...maybe. I'm hearing stuff like "mermaid" for this year already...I'm drinking up lots of water as we speak.

After Party Blues

And so the humilation begins with the wearing of the bells. I'm already the center of attention..but why would they think I would enjoy such a huge accessory? I think a little collar would have been tasteful or maybe a little bowtie? Yes...I can see myself with a bowtie...very classy. There were plenty of humans who were very generous with gifts and one even brought their cat along. I can't say Dita was very happy with that. My toys consisted of (all catnip filled) a cigar, a heart, sardines, mice, bouncy balls with bells (my revenge will be sweet with these), fish on a string, feathers on a string, and a mouse that can't make up its mind where its going. There was plenty of good food but there were also lots and lots of feet around. I spent most of the evening in one of the rooms where there were fewer people. I also ended up letting a few of them know they had more then enough by knocking their glasses out of their hands. Seriously.. look at them... Tell me they haven't had enough here....and where am I in the photo you ask? I had the good sense to run away...far far away from the clicky clicky thing they constantly chase me around with. Well i'm off to go enjoy some of those little mice and try to forget and possibly bury that blue thing at the bottom of my litter box. Oh the horror of it all!

Getting Older

It is getting closer to the date that my human likes to call "my birthday" when in fact it really is the anniversary of when I came to live here. My other housemate was also brought in last year around this time so the crazy human has decided to throw us a party this week. Now I'm sure you can tell just how excited I am about this. Humans running around, loud noises, lots of feet everywhere and me with my tail just cleaned. This should be interesting. Wonder if any of them plan on bringing their cats. Oh no, the litterboxes were just cleaned too! Hm..better check on that grocery list and make sure all the good stuff is on it.

I'll check back later hopefully with my tail intact. - Craven
