Josie - Friend of the Day

Please meet Josie.  She is a beautiful tortie cat.  She has such big beautiful eyes.  Here is her impression of Oliver Twist.  She doesn't stop there with her impressions either.

Josie is obviously a fan of the fine arts.  Here is her tribute to David Hasslehoff.  As you can see, she lives with a wonderful family who takes great care of her but might want to cut back on her TV time.

Sleep Well Sweet Cody

Cody Farkas passed away this Saturday.  He was a sweet little guy.  Best neighbor we've had.  Sleep well little man. You will be missed.  Dita & I are raising our nip filled mousies in your honor.  - Craven

Experimental Playtime Outside...Short lived

We tried a little experiment with the 3 kitties. We opened the sliding doors to see if the little guys wanted to go outside and be outdoor kitties or stay indoors as pets.  At first Frankie & Johnny went out on the balcony and checked out some leaves.

Then Johnny went to the otherside of the balcony behind some bushes checking to see if anyone was going to follow.  But as the weather turned cold and the kitties couldn't convince Dolly to go outside with them, they headed back indoors.

Back to their favorite spot.  The couch.  Later after their nap, they went to their toy box and pulled out their mice, balls, and bells and played for hours. Hmmm..guess they aren't so dumb after all.

How To Tell If Your Cat Is On "The Nip"

Dita here saying to you, just say "No" to the Nip.

Kitties Plus Decorations = Heartbreak

Look at these guys. So cute, so innocent...so crafty in their evil ways.  The happy trio who "allegedly"* tore apart an innocent peacock in its prime.  The bird was happily nesting in a cardboard box just waiting to be perched on a Christmas tree.
Sadly, some curious kittens managed to pull the bird out of the box without opening the box top either.  We'll call this Exibit A. The box that wasn't quite opened so how the hell did they even know the bird was in there??

This is Exhibit B. The mangled mess of what was once a very beautiful looking ornament.  I guess Dita & I will need to sit down and have a little chat about Santa not visiting bad little kitties.

Halloween in December

Aye...she gots me again this yar.  It's been a few months since the last post. I apologize for that. I've been drowning my sorrows in my warm milk trying to get over the indignity that is Halloween.  At least I am not alone.  Dita put up a good fight with her Madame Butterfly outfit.
The front. She looks thrilled.
The view from the top. She was not too pleased with the doodle bobbers on her head.  Not much candy got passed out this year.

Rusty send us his lovely photo and made a much better pirate.
Now that's a fancy hat me matey.

Music Calms the Savage Beasties

Ah, the little kitties lulled to sleep by the sounds of a guitar softly strumming.  They don't know the difference between tuning and actual playing. Good kitties.

Under The Weather

I'm sorry for not posting anything recently. I have been a little under the weather.  I've been to the vet and got a blood test and my white blood cells were doubled.  I'm fighting off some type of infection. I lost almost 2 pounds.  The vet gave me an antibiotic and I've been eating like a piggy ever since.  I'm sure I've gained about 1/2 pound back already.  I go back in another week for a weigh in.  In the meantime, I've put up a new box to remember some friends that have passed on.  If you want to submit a photo, Craven & I will be more then happy to add it to our little box.
Thanks for checking in - Dita

Snipped - The Day After

Dolly wide awake and observing the other cats.  Frankie wants to play with her but she's not having any of it since she has stitches under her belly.
Frankie earlier passed out with his new cigar catnip toy.

Johnny still hungover from being knocked out.  He had to have an extra cut as one of his little testies hadn't decinded so they had to go look for it.  Poor little guy.

All kitties are relaxing and apparently had no problems adjusting themselves back into the apartment life.

Saturday Treats

Jennifer & Mike came over on Saturday to visit with the all the kitties and cats.  They brought over some wonderful toys for them as well.
Here's Frankie, playing with the banana.

Here's Frankie and Dolly hiding one of the cigar catnip toys behind the curtain. Guess they are going to hide it for later use.

Kittens in the Pokey

"Noooobody knooooows, the trubbles ib seeeeen"...Dolly in her carrier waiting for the SPCA to be fixed tomorrow.
Frankie wanting his phone call...
Johnny just wanting to keep what's his.

Alot of effort went into trying to cage these three.  They are very comfortable running around the apartment, playing with things, sitting near and around humans once everyone has settled in.  They still however, will not let you pick them up or pet them.  They still need some work. I'm hoping with the fixing this week that maybe that will change.  I would hate to have to put them back outside again.  I haven't had anyone interested in adopting any of the three yet.  They are very cute and do grow on you very fast. Even with all of their little quirks.

Funny Sleeping Pose

I thought at first that Frankie was trying to position himself better but then realized he actually fell asleep with his little butt up in the air.  Johnny is trying to figure out if he should move over a little.

Exercise is Evil

I know it's been a while since the last post. My apologies. I've been busy trying to ensure that my human doesn't make it very far on her treadmill.  She keeps telling me she's not leaving but I'm not stupid. I know she's trying to make a break for it without putting food out first.  Such a bad owner.  I'm going to sit right here on her shoulder until she gets off this crazy thing.  - Dita

Nothing To See Here...Move Along

Nothing to see here folks...move along. There are no cats or kittens buried under this blanket here.  Nope.  Just lil ol' me, Dolly. Yep.  Now I just need a big box, a pen and a whole lot of stamps and I'm all set!

**Dolly, Frankie & Johnny are still up for adoption. Please spread the word that these little guys need a good permanent home***

A Man And His Monkey

A woman I work with, Rochelle, came across a picture of her late father and his pet monkey.  I thought I would share it with you all as it is really adorable.  I was hoping she had more information on it but I believe the picture says a thousand words already.

Caught another Kitten/Cat

This little guy walked right into the cat trap we've set up outside. I don't recognize this one. Seems pretty young like 6 months. Very tiny cat. Definately not an adult yet.  We've fixed 2 other striped ones like this already.  Don't know where this one came from.  Not sure if we are going to be able to foster this one for adoption. We'd like to try but I'm running out of room! I'm dropping this one off at the SPCA for fixing tomorrow. I'll find out the sex tomorrow.

Pet Sitting

Ah, remember the days back when your parents would leave for a while and you would go nuts? Well, pet sitting is the same thing. The pets parent is out of town for the week and the little ones are going wild! Belize is vacationing with Gale in spirit.

A Bowl Full of Dita

Ah, another lazy Sunday where I can lie back and relax and enjoy the view of the tiny minions who are still here being forced to do my bidding.  I get to relax in this elegant bowl lined with a purse i'm using as a pillow with my jar full of cat treats to my left, and a pagan idol to my right. Ah yes.. so good...sooo goooood.

.......

meanwhile

......

Does anyone know where the dustpan is? Dita's making me sweep up all the kitten hair off of the floor. Please...please adopt me soon!!!  I'm too cute to do manual labor! - Dolly

Ahhh Relaxing After A Busy Day!

Sometimes you just gotta lie back and take a moment to reflect on your day's accomplishments.  It's tough being a kitten.  Thankfully this place has all kinds of things lying around for me to unleash my creative side.  I give you my masterpiece I like to call "What I did all day Friday".
Or maybe better titled "What the Human did all night Friday".   :)

You Still Here?

The kittens love their television time.  Dolly is using Johnny's butt as a pillow here and is wanting to know where's the popcorn.
Frankie just wants to know, "why are you still here?".  I think they want me adopted so they can keep the couch and the tv.

Sheba & Casey

By: Jennifer Fitzsimmons

Sheba and Casey are my cats that were with me throughout my teenage years and beyond. We lost Casey a few years ago and Sheba last month. Sheba was one day old when we brought her in from the neighbor's yard. Her mother had left her between slabs of concrete on the ground. My mother and I (well, mostly my mother :-)) bottle fed her and cared for her. It was pretty close to taking care of a real baby (at least I assume). I was so scared she wouldn't make it through the first night because the vet warned us she might not. I checked on her every hour through the night. She made it through and we very close until I moved out. I think she was pissed that I took Rusty with us instead. Casey we brought in the year after Sheba. He was about two weeks old. They have the same mother, but the father we are not sure. I did know who his father was because there was a male orange Manx outside just like him that we fed along with the mother cat. I loved the outside cat who was already named Casey, so I had to keep the kitten and I named him Casey too. That was a huge argument between my parents and I because they did not want another cat, but of course being the spoiled only child, I got my way. ;-) Funny thing is Casey became very close to my mom and didn't really bother with me at all. We got Rusty years later and I moved Rusty in with Mike and I a couple of months after we moved in together when my parents moved down the shore.

In Memory Of Amanda

With Summer kicking in with the high temperatures and desire to blow work off and head on out to the beach or back to bed for some...I'd like to share a fond memory of my original hula girl Amanda. Ah yes, the grass skirt, the bikini top spun backwards...the evil glare in her eyes that say "I dare you to fall asleep".  She was such a good sport.

If you have any photos of a loved one you want to share, write up a little snippet to go along with it and we'll post it!  Remember...always use sunscreen!!

Jungle Life

So I guess the kittens are now trying to see just how high they can climb or at least are trying to find a decent spot to look down at us from.  Here is Frankie (on top) and Dolly going from a stand to the folded up treadmill.
Here's Dolly looking down at Frankie who slid down the treadmill when he lost his footing.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand here is Dolly who didn't quite make it to the top of the curtain rod like she was trying for.  Keep trying Dolly. Keep trying to reach for those stars.

Happy Go Lucky

Here's an update on the little kitty we were calling Choco Cat. He's been renamed Lucky by his new owners. He's doing well in his new digs. He looks kinda like a tarsier here doesn't he with his biiiiig eyes??
This is a tarsier just incase you didn't know what they were. Cute little monkey guys.

♥ Johnny ♥

I like watching a bit of TV..it facinates me.

The view sometimes isn't close enough so I like to climb to get a better view....

The perch puts me more at the level of the television so I can check out all the action, the drama, the romance....
But sometimes the action can be a little loud with the booms and stuff so I'll sit under the television until it quiets down again....
Except for Friday nights...that's Movie night and the Chiller Channel is on...then I hide behind the ottoman and under the blankie, peeking out behind the curtains making sure the zombies aren't coming to get me.
